The Voice of Sea Services Personnel

As a leading organization in The Military Coalition, FRA works closely with 35 other military and veterans’ organizations on important personnel issues. In addition to direct representation in Congress, the Association sponsors legislative seminars across the country to better inform Sea Services personnel, Reservists, retirees and veterans about governmental actions that affect them and what they can do to protect their interests.

In 1975, Del Herrmann, after retiring from the Navy,  joined the Fleet Reserve Association in Wilmington and became one of its most active members until the day he died on July 10, 2010. The men and women of the local chapter will ensure that his work is not forgotten when they officially rename their branch during a ceremony Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Applebee's on New Centre Drive. The organization will thereafter be called Fleet Reserve Association Del Herrmann Branch 299. His work led him to some of the highest offices in the Fleet Reserve, including East Coast regional president. When he died, he held the offices of secretary and treasurer, which he had held for about the past 10 years.
